Weekly WIPS

So…. I have managed to finish up 2 of my previous WIPS!

The main one i finished was my block stitch blanket! I loooooove the finished effect of this stitch but boy oh boy were there some ends to sew in!! 😱

I settled for a very simple border of a round of treble crochet in the grey just to finish it off!

Doesn’t the pink just pop in this one! 💕

Secondly I have managed to finish up this adorable crochet cactus 🌵

The pattern for this can be found on Ravelry (just search Flo & Dot cactus)

I have also managed to add another WIP to my list…. I started a gorgeous waffle stitch blanket by following a youtube video by the lovely Bella Coco – Link for the video is here.

This one is so far all in grey, i’m planning on adding a splash of colour in the border.

I just love how this stitch works up, it comes out beautifully squishy!

Weekly WIP’s 💛

I’ve realised I have quite a few projects on the go!!!

I started this block stitch blanket back in January as a pressie for my mum, I’ve now finished all rows and just need to start sewing in the many many ends 😱

I also need to decide on how to border it!!

I’ve also very nearly finished this little pouch (pattern: Cindy case by wool and the gang) all it needs now is a tie or clasp of some kind to finish it

Next in my WIP list… I’m halfway through the oh so cute cactus pattern (no pics yet) by flo and dot (available on ravelry)  🌵

Lastly I’m about halfway through the little gift bag pattern by little doolally, this one is pushing my skills a little bit, it involves tapestry crochet which I’ve not done much of at all so it will be interesting to see how I get on with this little project, I’ll share once I’ve finished it!

How many WIP’s do you all generally have going at once??

Yarnspiration 💕

I have been thinking about freshening up my living room, the walls and sofa are already mid grey with oak flooring, a grey rug and a mix of white and oak furniture.

Its just a bit boring now, so I want to introduce shades of mustard, teal and maybe plum so I got out my yarn pegs and had a play!!

my first option is……

Colours are Stylecraft Special DK in – Emperor, Graphite, Sunshine, Teal and Silver.

Love this combo but though that the sunshine maybe a bit too bright yellow, sooooo dig around in the yarn pegs a bit more and…….

Think I love this combo even more, these ones are Stylecraft Special DK in the colours –  Silver, Emperor, Gold, Teal & Graphite 💜

Right, off to the shops soon in search of cushions etc!! 😄

Happy New Year!

Well HAPPY NEW YEAR Peeps!! hope you all had a good one.

Its been a while since I last wrote a post but since then I have been working on loads of things!

I whipped up the hessian and pom pom wreath for Christmas and then got requests from Mum and Sis wanting one each too!

I made the puff stitch beanie following this tutorial I made mine slightly less slouchy but nothing as many rows before closing and adding a cute pom pom.

The Ripple blanket was a request by the hubby! he picked his own colours, this is following the fab tutorial on Attic 24 blog and can be found here. All the yarn is Stylecraft special DK and I used Cream, Grey, Emperor & Empire.

The blue striped blanket is one I made up as I went along! I did even rows of treble (UK) crochet in three shades of blue broken up by the beige colour. This one was gifted to my newborn Nephew, Harley, born in September. The yarn colours I used on this one were Stylecraft Special DK in Parchment, Aster, Cloud Blue & Denim.

Peachy ripples

I have been wanting to try out some new crochet techniques so using the Attic24 neat ripple pattern I worked up this super cute peachy toned baby blanket for my niece.

The colours I used were:

  • Stylecraft special DK – Apricot
  • Hayfield bonus DK – cream
  • Hayfield bonus DK – punchy pink

I love how this has turned out, and I’m looking forward to making more ripple blankets.

Cute and cosy crochet

Hi guys,

It’s not really the weather for hats at the moment but as I have a brand new niece I thought I’d expand my crochet knowledge and make a cute hat for her along with an appliqué flower!

The patterns I followed were:

Stitch n ting simple crochet baby hat

Bella coco easy crochet flower video

I used grey yarn from the WI range at hobbycraft which is beautiful and soft to work with, the pink was from some oddments I was given so not sure which brand.

Both tutorials were super easy to follow and I’m pleased with how the hat turned out, can’t wait to see what it looks like on little one 💕

Squishy yarnie goodness!

I haven’t been crocheting for very long, in fact I started to teach myself at the beginning of March using a set of hooks and a pack of small balls of yarn from eBay.

I’ve now become addicted and am always on the lookout for new patterns and yarns.

I’ve recently discovered stylecraft special DK yarns and I love the stuff, it is super soft, easy to work with, really affordable and comes in a fab array of beautiful colours!

After building up quite a stash, I’ve made some pretty yarn pegs so I can play with various colour combinations.

I’m looking forward to increasing my yarn stash and more of these lovely pegs!
